Forensic Seismology curiosities, accidents, goals, happiness and... many more

Seismographs are just ears listening the "sounds of the ground". Nowadays there are thousands of seismographs installed World wide listening what's going ahead on the ground. Any natural or artificial activity able to produce elastic waves propagating the ground may be recorded by seismograph being only conditioned by the amount of energy transmitted to the ground. The origins of forensic seismology can be traced to the establishment of nuclear test ban treaties with the aim to discriminate between earthquakes and explosions.

Modern seismograph systems run in continuous mode and they are extremely sensitive. This provides common records of signals from sources other than earthquakes. The analysis of these non-earthquake sources may often give information that is important to investigate the nature of the sources. Investigative agencies, insurance companies, lawyers, administrations and many others use to take profit of what it is know by FORENSIC SEISMOLOGY.

In the following, examples of records of non-earthquake seismic sources are presented. The following pretends to be a sample of curiosities, tragedies or generic investigations, both due to natural or man-caused events recorded by seismographs.
